Our Connection to the Story. Some book covers make a statement. The use of certain images can be enough to trigger unforeseen emotions. I found this to be true for the cover of Today We Go striking silhouettes of two women soldiers, one from the Civil War and another from modern day Afghanistan, allude to a contrasting portrait of both empowerment and vulnerability.

I chose this book as I read the authors other book first which was happily ever after. I really enjoyed that book and thought I would give some of her other books a chance. I did enjoy reading this but not as much as the other one sadly. I would read her other books in the future.

I love how the author bases her books in London my home town/5(54). Tell Us We’re Home is also about how to find a sense of home when you’re an outsider in a new town, a new country, and yet it’s your mother making these other kids’ lives easier.” –Marina Budhos.

These fully realized heroines are full of heart, and their passionate struggles against systemic injustice only make them more inspiring. Going Home is a story that captures the reader's attention from the beginning and keeps it throughout Morgan's journey home.

Today We Go Home is beautifully written and is so very powerful. I tore through this book probably faster than I should have, because I just couldn’t get enough of either Emily or Larkin and had to know how their stories would turn out.

The emotional impact is strong and real. “We work with the British, Effia, not for them. That is the meaning of trade. When I am chief, we will continue as we have, facilitating trade with the Asantes and the British.” Effia nodded. She wasn’t exactly sure what this meant, but she could tell from her parents’ looks that it Pages:   Provided to YouTube by Rhino/Warner Records We're Going Home Montrose Paper Money ℗ Warner Records Inc.
